On December 11, Southeast University President Sun Youhong, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), visited Professor Peter D. Lund at the School of Mechanical Engineering to congratulate him on his election as a CAE International Member.
Speaking on behalf of the University, President Sun recognized Prof. Lund’s contributions to new energy equipment and technologies. He also outlined SEU’s development goals and plans to strengthen its academic disciplines under China’s Double First-Class Initiative. Prof. Lund thanked President Sun for the visit and SEU for its continued support, and commended the University’s achievements and global influence.
Prof. Lund said he would build on his election by preparing to establish an international joint research centre focused on new energy equipment, with the aim of developing it into a national-level research institution. He plans to bring together leading academics and researchers from around the world to support China’s energy equipment manufacturing sector and use demonstration projects to drive industrial development.
Ji Min, Director of the President’s Office, and Duan Lunbo, Director of the University’s Talent Office, accompanied President Sun on this visit. Leaders of the School of Mechanical Engineering also attended.
