Southeast University hosted a forum on magnetic resonance instrumentation innovation and industrial development on October 22. Initiated by Academician Teng Gaojun and Prof. Ni Zhonghua, the event brought together researchers, representatives from medical equipment companies and healthcare organisations, and investors.

Chaired by Associate Professor Lu Rongsheng, the forum explored magnetic resonance-guided magnetic hyperthermia and internal radiotherapy, as well as emerging approaches to medical magnetic resonance equipment.

Presentations covered AI-assisted molecular imaging, integrated imaging and treatment systems, ultra-high-field MRI, helium-free systems, image-guided interventions, surgical robotics, and accessible low-field equipment. Participants discussed technical challenges and pathways for translating laboratory research into clinical practice and industrial applications.

Prof. Sylvain Martel of Polytechnique Montréal, Canada, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and an IEEE Fellow, joined Chinese academic and industry representatives in the discussions.

The forum promoted university–industry collaboration and interdisciplinary training, building on Southeast University’s research in precision medicine and magnetic resonance to advance bedside diagnostics and integrated interventional treatment.
